DEMI WEBSTER

Untitled was the first piece of artwork Demi created with a personal story behind it. This piece investigates into her contribution to the consumerist world.

Forty-one MDF tiles are mounted onto a black painted square on a wall. The black square represents a shelf in a store with all the products displayed next to those with a similar purpose.

Each individual painting is an item that Demi owns and through this piece she aims to show that she considers herself a consumer of cosmetic items.

Every painting is carefully colour matched to the item it represents and is painted to the exact scale. The products are stripped of their brand and any other additional information as these two factors are not the main focus of the piece. Instead the audience should be focused on the amount of products that are included in this piece.
